DNA metabarcoding is a rapidly evolving method for assessing biodiversity from environmental DNA. It has a wide range of applications: biodiversity monitoring, animal diet assessment, reconstruction of paleo communities, among others. The Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, in collaboration with the Laboratoire of Alpine Ecology (LECA – Grenoble), organize a two days workshop for presenting the bases and the last advances of this technique.

The workshop will be held at the Universitas Hotel Conference Hall, in Cluj-Napoca — Romania on the:

19-20 May 2015

Registration

Request for registrations have to be sent by email to:

cluj2015@metabarcoding.org

before April the 30th. The workshop is limited to 50 participants

Each participant interested in the presentation of his results, is invited to join to its registration email a short abstract for a poster.

Registration fees

Registration fees are fixed to 30€. They include attendance costs, coffee breaks, work-shop materials, but not the meals, neither the hosting.

Accommodation

The overnight accommodation for participants can be booked at the Universitas Hotel of Babes-Bolyai University, by the organizers. The cost for one room is 140 Ron (cca 32 Euros), breakfast included. If not, participants are free to choose and book by themselves the accommodation for their stay in Cluj-Napoca. You can have a look at the exact position of the conference room on google map

Submitting an abstract for the short presentations

Six short oral presentations are reserved for participants. If you want to apply for presenting your results this session, you must indicate your wish to your registration email and add a one page abstract presenting your results.
